The machine for decorative surface treatment of sheet metal “marbling” ensures high-quality surface treatment of sheet metal with rotating grinding heads.
Marbling is a surface treatment process for sheet metal made from various materials. It is most commonly used for processing stainless steel sheets by pressing the rotating grinding head onto the sheet metal surface. This creates a circular imprint on the sheet. By combining transverse and longitudinal movements of the grinding head, different decorative patterns can be achieved.
Marble finishing is a surface treatment process used on sheet metal made from various materials, most commonly stainless steel. The machine is equipped with four electric motors that drive rotating abrasive wheels. Each motor controls one section of the machine, and each section can be switched off independently. The standard width of each section is 500 mm.
The spindles are fitted with abrasive head holders. Special springs are integrated into the holders, allowing the abrasive heads to adjust to different levels of wear. The sheet metal is automatically fed through the machine while the abrasive wheels move transversely and rotate to create the desired surface pattern. The sheet metal is transported through the machine by two pairs of vulcanized rollers.
The polishing speed depends on the decorative pattern settings and ranges from 0.25 to 0.75 metres per minute. The machine supports abrasive heads with diameters of up to 60 mm and various grit sizes, depending on the user’s requirements.
The machine is equipped with sensors that detect the entry and exit of the sheet metal, enabling automatic operation. With additional equipment, the machine can also automatically load and unload sheet metal and apply protective PVC film to the treated surface. An infeed table, an outfeed table, and a dust extraction system can also be added to remove the dust generated during processing.
