Pillow plate welding machine

The CNC pillow plate welding machine “KTV1” is used for spot welding, longitudinal, and transverse welding. It is specifically designed for pillow plate (dimple jacket) welding, commonly used as heat exchangers. The portal-type construction allows the operator to pre-position the entire welding piece and also only takes as much space as the size of the plate. The workpiece is securely fi xed on the table, eliminating any possibility of misalignment. The welding process is fully automatic, and the resulting welds are robust enough to withstand infl ation pressure. The program automatically calculates the spot positions with just a few parameters input. Using TIG (GTAW) instead of laser makes it possible to weld directly on the edge of the upper plate.

Basic working table with copper surface, dimensions 2,000 mm × 6,000 mm
Two welding heads (TIG process) with push wheels that rotate by 90°
Each welding head has its own power source
Each welding head has a torch with motorized height adjustment during welding
Complete control via the machine’s touchscreen panel: voltage, speed, etc.
Two servo motors move the welding heads transversely, one for each head
Two synchronized servo motors move the welding portal longitudinally
Two grinding heads clean the welding areas and create a decorative pattern
Grinding pressure and the pressure of the push wheels against the table are individually adjustable via regulators
