The CNC pillow plate welding machine “KTV1” is used for spot welding, longitudinal, and transverse welding. It is specifi cally designed for pillow plate (dimple jacket) welding, commonly used as heat exchangers. The portal-type construction allows the operator to pre-position the entire welding piece and also only takes as much space as the size of the plate. The workpiece is securely fi xed on the table, eliminating any possibility of misalignment. The welding process is fully automatic, and the resulting welds are robust enough to withstand infl ation pressure. The program automatically calculates the spot positions with just a few parameters input. Using TIG (GTAW) instead of laser makes it possible to weld directly on the edge of the upper plate.
